The Gift and The Giver

Was there ever a gift more precious than the indescribable One God gave to the likes of you and me? How unworthy we are to receive such a Gift. If God was waiting for us to be worthy of such a Gift we all would miss out forever!
But here is God’s perfect answer to our impossible dilemma. When all attempts to reach Him were proved to be inadequate, when all of the sacrifices only revealed how great was our sin, and insufficient they were to cleanse us and reconcile us to God, He sent His Son.
Jesus said to the woman at the well: “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” John 4: 10
And so it is that we are the unworthy recipients of “the Gift of God”, and are truly blessed beyond our capacity. May we bless the Lord with all our being for the Gift and for the Giver!
The Gift and The Giver
Was there ever an offering so precious
As the One that was sent from above?
A Gift indescribable,
Of value unspeakable;
The Gift of immeasurable love.
Meeting the need of earth’s people,
Offering fresh hope to the lost.
The Gift for receiving
To those, who believing
Is worth more than anything’s cost.
How precious the heart of the Father
In spite of our unworthy plight.
He reached out in goodness
And offered forgiveness
In Him in Whom’s all His delight.
How great is the Gift and the Giver.
How great is the mercy and grace,
That gave without measure
The Gift we can treasure
Each moment of all of our days.
